Cowplant Farming
This mod adds a new type of cowplant to the game, the Hybrid Cowplant. It's been hybridized to produce milk when fed but can also be a source of friendship. This particular cultivar is also less deadly than it's interstellar cousins, exhibiting sim-like empathy that makes it difficult for it to fully digest it's friends. Your sim's relationship with this cowplant will determine the quality of the milk you harvest from it, and the cowplant's health will determine the type of milk you can get from it. You can discover some new types of hybrid cowplants that will produce a different flavor of milk by grafting it onto other types of plants. Also, cowplant milk is vegetarian safe so it's a great alternative for your lactose-intolerant sims!

Growing Hybrid Cowplants
Purchasing Hybrid Cowplant Berries
Hybrid Cowplant berries can be purchased from Florian Farms via my Brazen Delivery service (Core Crafting Mod) or the Grocery Stall (EP03). If you don't have either of those installed, you can find them in the Buy catalog by searching “Cowplant.”
Just plant them in the ground like a normal harvestable, and after a few days, it will grow into a full-sized cowplant. If you plant several, you may want to name them so you can keep better track of your relationships with them.
Caring for Hybrid Cowplants
Once your Sim has had their first chat with a cowplant, it will be added to their relationship panel, and they can begin caring for it.
Feeding Requirements: Your Sim must have a positive relationship with a cowplant to feed it. If the relationship is negative, your Sim will need to chat with it until it feels comfortable enough to allow feeding.
Stats Display: Hovering over a cowplant will show its friendship level, hunger, and health stats.
Food Preferences: Cowplants prefer meat, but they will tolerate other foods, including food scraps (prepared food). If your Sim has nothing to feed them, an option to “Buy a Steak” for §50 will appear.
Cowplant Relationships
Hybrid Cowplants were bred to be caring and are affected by every interaction with your Sim.
Positive interactions increase the relationship; negative interactions can harm it.
Maintaining a good relationship is essential to feed it and collect milk. Feeding only scraps or milking a cowplant without care can cause it to dislike your Sim.
Building a strong relationship unlocks better interactions. For example, your Sim can only pet a cowplant if they are friends, and petting gives a larger relationship boost than chatting.
Sims will also autonomously “Chat with Cowplant,” allowing relationships to develop slowly even without direct player interaction. This helps larger farms stay sustainable and easier to maintain.
Cowplant Products
Milking: Cowplants can be milked after being fed. The type of food affects their health, which determines the type of milk produced. Poor health may prevent interaction until the cowplant is cared for.
Milk Quantity: Each milking provides a large bottle of milk that can be divided into 8 individual servings, usable for drinking or recipes.
Tendrils: Sims with a positive relationship can clip a cowplant’s tendrils. This makes the cowplant unhappy but provides a rare commodity that can be sold or ground into cowplant flour.
Cowplant Flour: Used in recipes like Cowplant Cake, which gives unique buffs and debuffs for Sims who were terrified after being eaten by a Hybrid Cowplant.
Grafting Cowplants
Unlike normal cowplants, Hybrid Cowplants can be cut and grafted onto other harvestable plants to produce more Hybrid Cowplant Berries.
Grafting to certain plants can produce entirely new types of cowplants, offering different milk flavors.
Starving Cowplants
If a cowplant is starving, it will behave like normal cowplants and attempt to entice nearby Sims with its cake tongue.
Hybrid Cowplants are emotionally connected to Sims, making this response less effective.
Sims with a positive relationship can repeatedly stave off death after being eaten.
Sims with a negative relationship should beware — the cowplant may enjoy having them for dinner.
Hybrid Cowplants are hardier and can survive longer without food than normal cowplants.
Seasonalizing Cowplants
If your Sim needs a break from tending to cowplants, they can seasonalize them to prevent death.
Dormancy: Feeding a Dormancy Meat Cube will make a cowplant go dormant, limiting interactions. This can only be done if the cowplant’s udders are empty.
Recovery: To bring a cowplant back in-season, feed it a Recovery Meat Cube. Extra food is needed, as they will wake up starving.
Obtaining Meat Cubes:
Purchase from Florian Farms via the Brazen Delivery service (Core Crafting Mod)
Or craft at home using the Cowplant Farming: Seasonalizing book. Recipes can be accessed by clicking the book or through the Livestock section of The Brazen Homestead Cookbook and The Brazen Homestead Craft Books.
