BG - Base Game

Included in the Download File

  • MOD – BG – Forage

  • New Plant Files

  • Various Override Plant Files

Mod Description

This mod adds a foraging interaction to some of the plants in-game. When you forage, you will find different fruits, veggies, herbs, and bugs depending on the type of plant. You will also have an option on trees and bushes to forage for wood, which can be used as ingredients for some of my other mods.

Plant Types You Can Forage From:

  • Bushes

  • Flower

  • Grasses

  • Rocks

  • Shrubs

  • Trees

Files Included

There are 2 types of plant files, plus a link to some rocks that require this mod. You can use them separately or all together:

  • Foraging Plants – New Files – Adds some plants to the game that cost 0 simoleons and can be foraged from. Names start with “Forage-able…”. Perfect for survival or history challenges; includes base game objects only.

  • Foraging Plants – Override Files – Overrides many in-game plants so you can forage from them. Includes options for base game and other expansion/game packs. More will be added in the future.

  • Rock Files – Required to forage rocks. Download my objects [HERE]. More will be added in the future.

Details

  • Sims can only forage during the day.

  • There is an option to “Forage for Wood”, giving wood logs or twigs usable with other mods.

  • Sims will generally find berries, roots, mushrooms, herbs, and insects.

  • Custom harvestables are included.

  • Sims may find multiple items from several groups (e.g., berries, insects, mushrooms).

  • Each type of plant has a unique group of forageable items (e.g., foraging in grass may yield roots, stink bugs, locusts, and certain herbs).

  • Sims can fail at foraging, finding scraps or parts instead.

  • Sims with the Collector, Love the Outdoors, Survivalist, and One with Nature traits have a higher chance of success.

  • Sims with Survivalist or One with Nature traits plus the witch perk Incredible Forager get twice as many items when successful.

  • Sims may not find anything, in which case they receive scraps or upgrade parts.

  • Sometimes Sims may be hurt or scared while foraging.

  • Less commonly (may require EP01), Sims may suffer an affliction and get sick.

  • Some negative buffs prevent Sims from foraging.

  • Sims with the “Feeling Lucky” buff have a better chance at successful foraging.
